NOIDA: Four people were killed and eight others rescued after a boundary wall at Jal Vayu Vihar in Noida’s Sector 21 collapsed on Tuesday morning.
According to the police, after receiving the information about the incident, a team from the local police station along with fire department reached the spot and started the rescue operation.

Several senior officer, including the joint commissioner Love Kumar, also visited the spot.
The deceased are said to be labourers from Badaun district. JCB machines were also pressed to clear the debris.
“Four people have been declared dead while eight people have been rescued and taken to the hospital. The rescue operation is under way,” ACP Rajneesh Verma said.

“Unfortunately, four people died. Nine people were shifted to hospital for better treatment. NDRF and fire brigade teams are conducting the last research mission. FIR will be lodged and action will be taken,” said Alok Singh, commissioner of police, Noida.
Three of the deceased have been identified as Pushpendra Singh (25), Panna Lal (25) and Amit (18) — all natives of Baduan district in UP, police officials said.
The fourth deceased was identified as Sambhal native Dharam Veer, whose age was yet to be verified, the official added.
The boundary wall is of Jal Vayur Vihar residential township where drain cleaning work was being carried out by workers hired by the Noida Authority.
According to Noida Authority officials, the wall was constructed by JalVayu Vihar Sahkari Avas Samiti.
“The wall was constructed by the residents’ association around 25-30 years back,” said an official of Noida Authority.

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the loss of lives due to the wall collapse incident. He has directed senior officials to reach the spot immediately and continue rescue operations on war footing.
