ARUNACHAL HISTORY

History is not everything, but it is a starting point. History is a clock that people use to tell their political and cultural time of day. It is a compass they use to find themselves on the map of human geography. It tells them  where they are but, more importantly, what they must be.

Arunachal Pradesh  History- This subject is something which always ignites me to explore more …

The state remained almost unknown before the advent of the British in Assam (1826). Very scanty information were available about the region. Knowledge regarding Socio-Politico- Economlc conditions of the people were also limited. Even during  British period, the indigenous people were kept secluded by different measures. It is only after Independence (1947) that the state received  Indian G o v e r n m e n t ’s attention and developmental efforts were initiated  and  further more after Chinese aggression into Arunachal Pradesh in 1962.

Arunachal Pradesh is inhabited by many tribes and each of them has their own dialects but no script, written documents  and literature . Most of their history , literature , culture , customs , folklore , practices , beliefs, rituals, music , songs  etc have been passed down through oral  narration only.

But fortunately  British officers, explorers and anthropologist has done a yeomen service by writing and  keeping record of our history through books , official records and  audio-video documents .

Here in this page I shall be providing some of those  information on books ,  audio-video and  images compiled from net .  My  intention is only to share the knowledge i gathered  for anyone who is interested in Arunachal  History.

If any publisher has problem , they can always write to me.
